AP Macroeconomics Exam

The AP Macroeconomics course covers the principles of economics as they apply to an economy as a whole. It emphasizes the study of national income, price determination, economic performance measures, money, inflation and unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy, aggregate demand and supply, growth, and international economics (trade and finance).

The AP Macro Exam format is:

Multiple-Choice : 70 minutes, 66% of exam score

  • 60 multiple choice questions

Free-Response: 60 minutes, 33% of exam score

  • 1 long free response question
  • 2 short free response questions

The free-response questions ask students to apply economics concepts, often requiring explanation, analysis, and sometimes graphical or numerical work to analyze economic scenarios.
