AP Calculus AB Exam

This course is organized around the foundational concepts of calculus. This includes limits, derivatives, integrals, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.

The AP Calculus AB exam format is:

Section I: Multiple Choice
Part A (60 minutes, calculator not permitted)
30 Questions

Part B (45 minutes, graphing calculator required)
15 Questions

Section II: Free Response
Part A (30 minutes, graphing calculator required)
2 Questions

Part B (60 minutes, calculator not permitted)
4 Questions

Sections I and II each account for 50% of the total exam score. In the free-response section students are required to show their work. The reasoning and methods that support the answer must be articulated.

The AP Calculus AB Exam date for the 2022–2023 school year is Monday, May 8, 2023 at 8 a.m. This test is given one time per year.
