AP Calculus BC Exam

This course is organized around the following big ideas:

Big Idea 1: Limits
Big Idea 2: Derivatives
Big Idea 3: Integrals and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus

The AP Calculus BC exam format is:

Section I: Multiple Choice
Part A — 60 minutes, 30 questions (calculator not permitted)

Part B — 45 minutes, 15 questions (calculator required)

Section II: Free Response
Part A — 30 minutes, 2 questions (calculator permitted)

Part B — 60 minutes, 4 questions (calculator not permitted)

Each of Sections I and II contributes 50% toward the total exam score. In the free-response section, students must show their work and provide reasoning and method, not just final answers.
